Drug addiction in adolescence and its dangers

It is said that a woman is more resilient in the turmoil of life than a man, that she more easily endures illness and other troubles. But a woman’s body is weaker in resisting such influences as smoking, alcohol and drugs. If we talk about cigarettes, you get used to them not immediately, somewhere in 30-40 days (to drugs much faster). But it is very, very difficult to wean yourself off it. For many years only our tobacco and alcohol were classified as “food”, while the World Health Organization has long listed them as narcotic substances. Why drugs? Because they give a short-term pleasant effect to which you become addicted. Nicotine or other drugs are included in the chain of metabolism. And without them, the chain no longer works. A person gets sick without smoking, vodka or “weed. He looks for them to make up for the “deficit” in his body. It is better not to start, because sometimes it is not possible to quit, especially if it is a drug addiction in adolescence.

Drug addiction among young people

Addiction. I think you know what it is. When I was your age, I didn’t even know we had it. And today? Having been struck by the magnitude of this scourge a few years ago, society accepted it as a necessary evil and stopped paying attention. One can understand people who struggle daily for their own survival and do not have the strength to care about how to help drug addicts.

Of course, young people today have a hard time finding their place in the sun, even earning a place to go to a cafe or a movie. But in other countries there are addicts both among the unemployed and the rich. The reasons may vary from simple curiosity, when one wants to “catch a buzz”, from the desire to do outrage, from group seduction or even coercion to lack of warmth and a sense of security, especially if they are not in their own home.

Who is predisposed to become an addict?

Not everyone becomes or can become an addict. There are people who are simply not predisposed to it. But there are also those who are predisposed. They especially need to be on their guard against falling into the abyss. How do you find out if you are predisposed? For example, many people like strong or specific smells (like flowers, perfumes, lacquers, etc.), but only a few people develop this “liking” into a pernicious passion. It is called “toxicomania.

The will of the disinclined is stronger, and the will of the predisposed is weak, which is why people do not immediately overcome destructive temptations; they can stop; they can switch their energy to something else. The predisposed person is also not doomed, but he takes more risks.

Not so long ago, all the responsibility for educating the “rascals” was placed on the school, the police, and doctors. Now we can hardly expect them to take effective care of the young. What is left is the family. But not always parents can stop the child, which, since adolescence, escalating craving for emancipation: I want, say, to be free, what I want, and so do! But having achieved complete freedom, he does not know how to use it. It is especially difficult when there is no good fatherly influence. The general perversity of normal life has made our time a time of strong women who are characterized by incomplete families. But this “strength” has two sides: either it is only enough to provide for the needs of the “feed, clothe and clothe” type, or this “strength” crushes the personality of the son or daughter. And deformation, as we know, sometimes produces completely unexpected results…

The consequences of drug addiction

What can really stop the temptation of drugs or substance abuse? I am convinced that it is above all work as a way of life and fear of the consequences. You have to be aware of the consequences. Let’s not wait for another show, they’re not very frequent now. Let’s turn to the “Book on Drugs,” published in Hamburg. It says that drug addiction leads to: destruction of teeth, liver, digestive diseases, circulatory disorders, tumors, susceptibility to AIDS, because the immune system is already weakened, to impotence and, consequently, to loneliness, to loss of capacity for work, to crime (not only the desire to get money for a new portion of “drugs”, but also psychosis, aggressiveness, which even leads to murder), eventually to death. It can be from general exhaustion and diseases of the body, from overdosing, and from suicide.

Why are drugs more dangerous than alcohol and cigarettes?

There are many kinds of drugs. Among them are heroin (considered the most dangerous known), morphine, opium, hashish, marijuana, LSD. The appearance may vary: powder, pellets, liquids, paste-like substances and resins, dried crushed or not grass, poppy straw. These substances are injected or snorted into the body, smoked using “cigarettes, pipes or hookahs. Some are satisfied with pills such as amphetamine, pervitin, captagon, preludine, ritalin, benzedrine or ephedrine. I cited these names not so you know what to look for, but to avoid.

Under no circumstances take any pills from anyone! It’s hard to even guess what kind of nasty stuff is being given and for what purpose. Even if the person is sympathetic. As it is known, the pleasant appearance disarms and is often used by all sorts of rogues.

Toxic addicts prefer to inhale various solutions such as ether, acetone, gasoline, chloroform, tetrachlorocarbon, trichloroethylene, paint and glue solvents, hairspray and lighter gas – all going to “indulge”, to catch a feeling of happiness, to dull feelings of anxiety, to hallucinate slightly… Then these “pleasures” turn into delusions, unconscious fears, persecution mania, which is terminated by self-destruction. In order to get rid of physical and psychological burdens, the addict seeks new doses, and more and more of them are needed.

Addiction to drugs happens very quickly, faster than tobacco or alcohol. Sometimes just once is enough. That’s why it’s so scary to “get hooked.” Don’t even trust acquaintances who seem to be nice to you and care about your pleasure. No, my dear! They care about something else altogether-getting new customers to make money for the drugs they need so much for themselves.

Is it possible to re-educate an addict?

As a child, I was afraid of gypsies and drunks. I avoided them. Please, avoid drug addicts. Even if they are sometimes interesting and somehow attractive people. They are unpredictable people, because an addict is a different organism. I leave aside the humanism of appeals to fight for their fate. If they don’t want to, why should your life be thrown “under the wheels”? I bow before people engaged in rescue missions, but…

How do you know if you’re looking at someone who is “dabbling” or seriously addicted to a “potion”? There are many outward signs. In one word, it could be expressed as “strangeness. And what exactly is the meaning of this word? Pallor and an unhealthy appearance, earthy complexion, nails and teeth, bloodless lips, “goose” skin, red eyes with a dry sheen and extremely dilated or constricted pupils. Drug addicts lose weight quickly. They suffer from excessive sweating and pain. They are very sensitive to touch and light. They get dizzy, plus an irritating cough, runny nose, or yawning. The most obvious signs are injection marks on the inside of the elbow folds or the front surfaces of the thighs.

But these marks are not always visible, because clothes are chosen with long sleeves. And not all of them prickle. But strange gait, lethargy, and sluggishness of speech are visible. An addict is characterized by either unnatural excitement, irritability, lack of balance, or complete apathy: to work, to former attachments, to their own appearance, including basic hygiene. Often they have a fork of a drunken, vodka-free and dumbed-down person. That is, someone who has given up the fight for life. Not only will he not defend you, but for himself he will make no other efforts than those aimed at getting another dose of “high.
